During the last decade, many African countries have got massively into the deployment of tramway systems in their agglomerations (more than twenty projects are underway …) to deal with road congestion due to rapid economic development and its consequences in terms of air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and degradation of the quality of life.

Algiers, Casablanca, Rabat, Oran, Lagos, Addis Ababa, Constantine are all examples of the « tram » revolution in Africa. Many projects are underway, each more impressive than the previous ones.
