Dr Eddy Agbo, the discoverer of UMT (urinary tract malaria test).

Eddy Chukwura Agbo is a Nigerian molecular biologist. He is the inventor of UMT.

UMT is actually a stick that precisely detects proteins from the malaria-causing parasites that are present in the urine of patients with fever.

UMT’s margin of error is almost nonexistent because the device only responds to all of the parasites causing malaria.

The test can diagnose malaria in 25 minutes.

In June 2016, Fyodor won the Innovation Prize for Africa in the Social Impact category.

He won $ 25,000 for his urinary malaria test. The test can diagnose malaria in 25 minutes.
