Samuel Rigu created Safi Sarvi, a waste-based fertilizer that can increase yields by up to 30%

Samuel Rigu graduated from the University of Nairobi in Kenya with a Bachelor Degree in Agribusiness. He is the founder of two agribusiness companies.

Fertilizer used by rural farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, in majority imported from abroad, is expensive.

Samuel created Safi Sarvi organics, a cheaper fertilizer alternative. It is made from purely organic products and waste from agricultural crops.

The product uses a charcoal-based fertilizer for agricultural use that counteracts soil acidity and retains nutrients and moisture in the soil.

Claims include the potential to reverse the degradation of land used by farmers and can increase farmers’ yields by up to 30%.
