TABLE MOUNTAIN, CAPE TOWN

Table Mountain is a massif in the Western Cape province of South Africa, which overlooks the city of Cape Town.

It peaks at 1086 meters above sea level and has an area at the top of about 3 km2 and an area at the top of about 3 km2. Nearly 1,500 species of plants are found on this site.

To get there, take a cable car (construction of which began in 1926) which can accommodate 65 passengers.

Table Mountain is the only terrestrial object to have given its name to a constellation, the Table. French astronomer Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille originally proposed the name.

Table Mountain is one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
