Half of the gold mined earth comes from a small place, the Witwatersrand in South Africa

African land is rich. It carries within it several minerals (diamonds, gold, aluminum, copper, platinum, coal, etc.) which, despite their continuous extraction, never run out.

The Witwatersrand in South Africa testifies to this wealth as it alone holds the largest known gold reserves in the world. It has already produced more than 1.5 billion ounces (40,000 tons) , which represents about 50% of all the gold ever mined on earth.
